During his tenure with the venerable network equipment provider, James played a significant part as a key leader in the reinvention of the company’s strategy around secure, converged networks. Among his activities and accomplishments were: |

Recruited by CEO and President, Bruce Claflin, to reinvigorate 3Com’s culture and performance, as SVP
Worldwide Sales and Service. Claflin relied on James’ experience
in merging contrasting cultures to play a leadership role in the senior management team comprised of new members from a recent acquisition.

Named section
16 officer of 3Com in April, 2005 and Director
of China-based Huawei-3Com joint venture in
March, 2006. Responsible for managing the integrated
sales organizations of the two contrasting companies.

|
Average quarterly year over year revenue
growth during tenure was 14%, with operating
loss improvement at 19% average in the same period.

Initiated and received Board approval for a joint
development and sales relationship with IBM for 3Com’s VOIP solution on IBM’s System x Bladeservers. |
