During his fourteen-year career with Lotus, James played a critical
role in the worldwide growth and success of Lotus Development
Corporation, as it transformed the IT industry, first with 1-2-3
and, later, with Notes. Included among his noteworthy highlights and
accomplishments, are: |

As EVP Worldwide Field Operations, oversaw
a team of 5000 employees and a budget of $540M, achieving
$1.3B revenues in software licenses and services.
In 1999, led his
team in achieving substantial reductions in expense growth,
while growing revenues at 13%, profit at 33%, and license units at 57%.

After
IBM’s
acquisition of Lotus, was chosen as Senior Vice President to
establish a division to enable the IBM worldwide sales force to
more effectively sell Lotus products and services. Served on
IBM Chairman Lou Gerstner’s Senior Management Group.

As Senior
Vice President/General Manager EMEA, James led a successful
financial turnaround resulting in expense reductions of 8% and
revenue growth of 7% in 1995.
This preceded a return to growth and investment in 1996,
with revenue growth of 17%.

As Vice
President/General Manager APAC, consolidated disparate
sales/marketing, manufacturing, and product development
organizations under his leadership. James led a two-year period
of revenue growth of over 50%, as well as establishing Lotus
subsidiaries in China, Thailand, and Indonesia.

As Vice
President/General Manager Latin America, created new
regional organization headquartered in Miami, Florida.
|
|
As
General Manger Spain and Portugal, initiated new
subsidiary, hiring over 50 people and achieving annual revenues
of $18M after four years. |
